“Success in selling is not about getting a result; the result will be what the result will be. Success in selling is about the experience your customer has in getting that result.
Respect, dignity and ethics aren’t words you often find in sales books. In fact in some quarters ethics and success have been made mutually exclusive. But this simply isn’t so. Being ethical in your dealings with all is the cornerstone to a peaceful well fulfilled life.
I define success in selling as when one produces noteworthy levels of business on a regular basis whilst maintaining a lifestyle and a level of personal harmony not experienced by most.
What effect would it have on your business if your sales people:
- Could do their “best” interview at EVERY sales call?
- Could generate referral business even if when they didn’t get the order?
- Knew how to teach their customers how to refer prospects to them?
- Could define and deliver exceptional service?
- Didn’t reduce the price as their first option?
- Had a sales system that allowed them to control the sales process in an ethical, dignified and respectful manner?
- Created such a buzz when they spoke to prospects that top sales people in your field called you looking for a job?
